FAUX POM POM ALTERNATIVE FOR BABY HATS

        I get tired of making pom poms so I tried this tonight.

Round 1: With an E hook and Jamie baby yarn: (leave about a 6 inch tail for

attaching to a hat later.) Ch 5 join with slip stitch to make a ring.

sc(ch3, sc,,25 times in ring) Join with slip stitch to first sc.

Round 2: Slip stitch in first ch 3, 4 dc in same ch3. 5 dc in each ch 3

around. Slip stitch to first stitch. Finish off. When you are finished with

this pull the tail on it and it will close up even more and get rounder.

Secure the tail then attach to hat with beginning

tail. Makes an interesting ball type thing (kind of like a scrunchy?)

Finished size is about 1 –1/2" diameter.
